Privacy

Short, because there's nothing to say: this app never goes online, collects no data, has no telemetry, and no account.

What it doesn't do

  • No network. No server to call, no API to hit, no crash reporting.
  • No data collection. No analytics, no event tracking, no ad SDKs.
  • No account. No login, no email, no sign-up.
  • Doesn't read your files. No Accessibility, Screen Recording, Automation, or Full Disk Access.
  • Doesn't scan your network.

What you download here is the built app; the only interaction with the outside world is the download request itself.

What it stores on your machine

Everything stays on your machine, in one directory:

~/Library/Application Support/HeadlessKnightMaster/

Inside is one state.json holding:

  • Current state — whether you're in away mode, when you left.
  • Snapshot — your sleep settings, Bluetooth state, Time Machine switch, sharing services, and which apps were running when you left. Used solely to restore everything on return; for nothing else.
  • History reports — each trip's duration, battery change, wake counts and times.

This data is read only when you open the app, for you to look at, and never leaves your machine. Delete the directory when uninstalling and it's gone for good.

About this website

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages — static, no backend, no database, no user system. As CDN, Cloudflare processes access logs (IP, User-Agent) under its standard terms; that's inherent to hosting, unrelated to the app, and we do no analysis with it.

The site's support feature composes an email in your own mail client — only the messages you deliberately send leave your machine.

The boundary of its permissions

The app asks for two things, both revocable any time in System Settings:

  • Admin password — once, to install the background daemon. macOS handles it; the app never sees or stores it.
  • Notifications — deniable.

The system info it reads is limited to: holders of sleep assertions (process name and PID), current pmset settings, the system sleep log, display IDs and EDID, battery level, and the Bluetooth switch state — exactly what “make the machine sleep” requires, nothing more.
